Can you even see the River Colorado? If no, do a part in saving it!

This is how the River Colorado looks like now... :(

Now that I have talked about the OmniMax Theatre, shall I move on to the show, The Grand Canyon- River at Risk? If you don't even know where the Grand Canyon is...Sigh... It is in Las Vegas, U.S.A. South-west of America.

It was a show on the Grand Canyon-the fact that it is endangered. The Colorado River flows through it. The Colorado River is approximately 1,450 miles(2,330 km) long. The aim of this show is to enlighten people not only in America, but also in other countries. Enlighten what? In the past few decades, its depth has reduced tremendously. By more than half! How pathetic....

The Grand Canyon is something worth preserving. I mean, these days women are trying to go against the rule of nature by preserving their 'beauty'. Beauty is something to be lost as you grow older and older. That is the rule of nature. Pretty harsh? Honestly, I will go for all those treatments when I grow that old. I too, am planning to go against the rule of nature. I will do all those type of treatment- if the Earth still exists that time. Why I say that is because, Earth's 'lease' is coming to an end. Men are just so.... Cruel. That one word. Cruel. That is what men are. Cruel. Throwing the same plate away on which they have been surviving on for millions of years. May be I am cruel too. But not that cruel.

I think my mum too is that kind of person-throwing the same plate away on which she has been surviving on for years. Every time I switch off the light when I am going out of a room-even if it is for 5 seconds- my mum says, "What is the need?" Time and again, I explain to my mum why I do that. And time and again, my mum says, "You are not the only person on Earth. There are billions more. They don't care. So why should you?" After that we start to fight (sometimes I use fists). But she is forgetting one thing. The solution for every big problem starts with one determined person. That is the striking quote I heard at the end of the show. They said that as they were encouraging us to play our part in protecting the Grand Canyon.

If your group is facing any problem or having a fight, remember: The solution for every big problem starts with 1 determined person. And you should be the determined person. You...

It has hardly been a week since my father bought me Teddy after much anger and insistence. Teddy is a cute, adorable teddy bear. Unless you don't know who Teddy is, I will give you a give away clue: Mr Bean. That definitely should tell you who Teddy is. Many of my friends have it. That is why I told my miserly father that I want to be an owner of a cute Teddy. Also I can imitate Mr Bean's voice (I am born with the art of voice imitation). I love to say “Teddy” in the Mr Bean style!

In my point of view, Teddy is a cute adorable thing. But it is made up of a very cheap material. It is pretty fragile! It costs $10! Pretty “X” (expensive)? Well, it is, after all, Mr Bean's cherished Teddy. Mr Bean is a very expensive name. Anything to do with him cost money. That is why smart businessmen use Mr Bean's name as a 'shield' to sell their cheap teddies. But Teddy is still cute!

In less than 5 days, my cute brother spoilt Teddy: tore off his eyes and the nose stitching. I was so angry!! I was fuming mad! I beat him up so very badly! First by hand, then by cane! Ouch! He cried and cried but I still did not stop beating! I smacked him numerous times on his head. I slapped him a lot of times too. I was like a lion provoked in its sleep! I did not care if he cried for eternity.

One question had arised at this point of time. Did the bash up help my anger to subside? How did the beating help me? Why did I do it? The beating filled me up with more anger. Thus, I beat him even more! Do you thing it helped? If yes, how? Many of you, if you agreed previously, will say that he will never dare to do this again in the future. No, wrong. There are a few people in this planet who will get the will to do more of that kind of thing if they are beaten or told off. My brother and I are one of those. When my naggy mother nags I try to provoke her further by doing more of the kind of thing my mother nags me for. So does my brother. He has a very weird habit of pinching people. If you were to beat him or scold him when he does so, he will do more. Sot the beating will only provoke him more.

So why did I do it? Even if I did do it, was right of me? Post some comments or leave your opinions in the chat box.

Yesterday, 6A, some 6B pupils and 3 teachers- Miss Chia, Miss Suhaila and Mdm Siti Hajar-went to the Science Centre OmniMax Show. We watched The Grand Canyon- River at Risk.

We watched the show in the OmniMax Theatre. It is a virtual theatre. As in when you are watching a show in there, you feel as though you are in the show. The whole ceiling is the screen

In my opinion, it is a very futuristic and cool show.

Eunice, Yue Ying, Judy and I were together. We got seats in the third last row. The higher row, the better. While we were climbing the stairs, Eunice and I felt quite weird. Quite giddy. I don't know why. Also, when the camera was moving down towards the sandy ground, I felt like I was moving down. One more example is in the begining of the show, when water was being splashed, I clsoed my eyes and turned my face away. I thought that the water was coming right for me.

And I am back! After Jasmine's word, we went off to EAT! By then I was 'dieing' of hunger! I bought a packet of candy floss, 3 sausages and a packet of popcorn. I could not finish everything, though. I had eaten with Aikanshi. Actually, I had thought of buying a slice of pizza. But the queue was so long that I had changed my mind.

After eating we went for the SAFTI Bus Tour. We had to pay very close attention to this guided tour as we were doing a Social Studies project based on this. We are doing this in groups. I am doing it with Eunice. Anyways, there were so many things we saw! We saw the Officers Cadet School-where the Officers are trained. We also saw where the Army, Navy and Air Force are housed. In the end we went to the SAFTI entrance. There is a triangle somewhere- that is what the guide said. None of us could find it. So the guide told us where it was.The whole entrance is a triangle! Wow!Having finished our tour, we went for the SDC tour-touring the SDC Building.

What I loved the most was the designing part. Designing Singapore...Wow! I had to design Orchard Road. The place where we had to design it was like the venue where the Arena is held. Pretty cool...:)After all these we headed back for school. It was a splendid day! Hope to go there again! Very Soon!

I was SERIOUSLY HAPPY to see a BREAKTHROUGH results in my English! It is the first time in about 2 YEARS I am getting an A! Yay!

Here are my marks~~~
Situational Writing: 15/15 (cool)
Composition: 32 to 34/40 (almost there)
Oral: 28-30/30 (There, but must score higher the next time)
Listening Comprehension: 19/20 (Noooo! Just 1 mark...Sob...Sob...)
Paper 2: 74.5/90 (MORE! MORE! MORE!) Total: 85% (Gotta aim HIGHER)
Improvment: 14 marks...Highest improvement in class (But I want to IMPROVE MORE)

Why I call it a break through because last year, I will always get in the 70s. My entry marks to 6A was 71. 85 and 71! Whoa!! But highest is Adorabelle with 91, an A*! Nevermind! Next time I will aim for 92! Hah! Well, I have been 'bragging' about my marks, but how and why did I get these marks? It definately is no miracle! Obviously it is Miss Chia, whose dedicated work has brought such marks to my courtyard! It is such a shame I can't do anything for her though I want to... But I can give her respect in class by paying more attention in class to score higher marks, in order to make Miss Chia proud! Thank you Miss Chia! Really, a very sincere THANK YOU!!!

Finally, I have changed my blog... I was very fed up of my old template. It was 'out of fashion'. So, I got a new blog and a new template. But while I was copping the HTML code from blogskins.com, I started thinking, what is the point? Changing the template will not change the way I think... I should have the attitude to change the way I think. Therefore, in this new blog, you guys will hardly see the old me... It will be a new me...So what is the 'new me' all about? It is about being more mature, more thoughtfull, more grown up. In this whole new blog, I will post sensibly and intellectually...

MORE than a week since I went to SDC, and no post or comment on it? IMPOSSIBLE!! That place was awesome! Fabulous! Cool! There were so many hi-tech gizmo's-just the way I like!

This time round, the whole level, went together on Monday 12/5/08. In the first half an hour, we played a discovering game. It was all about finding hidden bags with tags. That was the aim. And the aim of the aim was to remind us to be vigilant for not only, Singapore, but also the rest of the countries so that we can have a safe life. On the way, we found out things about Singapore. We watched shows like So Singapore and a show on what would happen if a train in Singapore were to be bombed. There were vibrations in the ground where we saw the show on the bomb blast (which gave me an idea on what to write for the music rap)

After the whole game, when Jasmine was briefing us about where the bags were, she told us about the show on the bomb blast. She said, "Singapore hasn't been bombed yet"What she meant about yet was that Singapore hasn't been bombed till now, but it could be bombed in the future. So, as the people of Singapore and the Earth, we have a responsibility for being vigilant. That simple 3-letter word bit me so much... It is amazing! There is more to the SDC trip, but I need to make a move...BYE!
